  • The Planning System is changing. Under the new Localism Bill people are being encouraged to become more involved in deciding how their communities should change and grow for the future. Branston and Mere Parish Council needs YOUR help in drawing up a Neighbourhood Plan to establish a long term vision for the Parish to help influence planning policy and improve local facilities. Your views on the development of the community are an integral element of the plan, which when completed and approved carries legal substance.

You can ALL contribute to this process by completing Questions 1 to 11. In addition, if you, or someone in your household, has a supported housing need please also respond to questions 12 to 26.

  • Data Protection

  • This is the end of the general householder questionnaire.

If you, or someone in your household, has a supported housing need please also respond to questions 12 to 26.

  • Supported Housing Need - please complete if applicable to a member of your household.

Supported housing can be described as a scheme where housing, support and sometimes care services are provided as a package. The purpose of support is to enable service users to live as independently as possible within their community.

    12. Do you think that anyone in your household will require any of the following in the next three years? (if your response is NO to all categories then please move on to Q14)

  • 14. If someone in your household may need Supported Housing what type of accommodation is needed and how many bedrooms do you require?

  • Affordable Housing Need – please complete if applicable to a member of your household.

Affordable housing is for local people whose needs cannot be met on the open market. Usually provided by a housing association or local authority, it includes homes for rent or shared ownership

In many rural areas, people on low incomes are being priced out of the local housing market. In these cases, providing a small number of affordable homes can help to ensure that local people can remain in their community, whatever their age or circumstances.

By completing this section you will enable us to find out if there is a need for new affordable homes or supported housing over the next few years and the type of accommodation which is required.

  • If your response is NO please ignore the remaining questions and go to the last page for details on how to return your questionnaire and enter our free cash prize draw.

  • If you or anyone in your house is in need of affordable housing please complete the following questions.

  • 21. What is the main reason for needing to move? Please tick all that apply

  • 23. If affordable housing were to be available, which of the following would you or any members of your household consider? (Please tick all that apply)

  • 24. What type of accommodation is needed and how many bedrooms do you require?

  • This questionnaire does not register you on the Council Housing waiting list. It is important to register if you are in need of affordable housing. Please contact your Local Authority Housing Team for an application form.

  • Thank you for completing this Neighbourhood Planning and Housing Needs Survey.
