Today, “it was just another manic Monday”, (please excuse the Bangles lyrics !) With 13 requests for assistance being received we just about covered the full spectrum of routine tasks; hospital escort, welfare visits, shopping, prescription deliveries, food box deliveries to Branston and Dunston residents, receipt of food bank donations and dog walking.
This level of demand for the Group’s services is testament that there is a real and genuine reason for it to remain operational for the foreseeable future. Despite restrictions being eased and lifted to varying degrees there exists a number of residents who still remain highly vulnerable and are quite naturally anxious about any quick return to a new normal. It is these that we must remain able to support and more critically protect !
Rest assured that whilst other communities have decided to rundown and close their support groups, ours with the excellent community spirit that exists will definitely remain active as long as it is needed for the welfare and wellbeing of Branston residents.
