Things certainly stepped up today with 11 requests for assistance being duly responded to, a real indicator that the group’s services are still in demand. As well as prescriptions being collected and delivered, shopping being done hospital escorts, and welfare visits being made, several people donated food, cash and material to the Food Bank. Thank you very much for your support and also stopping for a chat.
Personally, this was a great opportunity for me to meet people face to face and to get an idea of how residents are feeling about the current situation; relaxing of restrictions etc and the future. Importantly, it is clear that there is a need for some kind of formal volunteer welfare support to exist in the village that aligned with coordinating social and sporting activities etc will benefit everyone.
