After all the excitement of yesterday, things moved up a click with 8 requests coming in. (3 x Welfare, 2 x Miscellaneous, 1 x Shopping, 1 x Prescription collection & delivery and finally 1 x food box dispatched).
Thank you so very much for all the kind messages, emails, calls and texts following yesterday’s post. It is so humbling and rewarding, but of course it’s not all down to me. It’s also for those individuals and organisations who have so loyally supported me.
The winners of the 1000 competition (Barbara and Linda) have very kindly donated their prizes to the group. Thank you very much, it is appreciated and will certainly benefit those in need who reside amongst us.
The good news continues – running in parallel with the survey, I recently applied for funding to start up the Branston Community Group and Branston Good Neighbour Scheme. I am very pleased to announce that I have been successful to the tune of £2497.00. Thank you to the Lincolnshire Community Foundation and National Emergencies Trust for considering us and the subsequent funding. The money will be used for mobile phones, iPads, ID badges, promotional material and volunteer training to name a few.
I currently have 27 people who have offered to assist me with this new venture, but there’s always room for more. If you are interested in joining us or would like further information, please get in touch, I’ll be happy to hear from you.
Branston All Saints Covid-19 Food Bank- Short notice request
I am looking for a volunteer to manage the Food Bank for one day only, this Thursday- 10th September. If you are available and can assist please get in touch.
Finally a polite reminder, the Survey remains ‘live’ until 18th September, please take time to complete and return the form. Remember it’s for everyone, you never know when you might need help and indeed offers an opportunity for your to be involved in this thriving community. Additionally your thoughts on what you think the village needs are important too.
Take care and Stay Safe
Once again, thank you for your continuing support – Andy
