Today saw a slight increase with 13 requests for assistance coming in. The breakdown is as follows:

7 x Welfare (Including 4 x home visits)

2 x Shopping trips

2 x Prescription collection and delivery

2 x Miscellaneous

Statistically speaking…….

Although I keep a record of daily requests and responses, which incidentally is now at 1414, I have often wondered as to how many volunteer hours have been spent on tasks. Unfortunately, I have no way of coming to a definitive figure. However, I have no doubt and without any exaggeration it will be in the high hundreds, if not indeed into the thousands. I am well aware of numerous volunteers, myself included who regularly spend up to 2 to 3 hours either daily or weekly with lonely, vulnerable and often confused residents. This is of course on top of the time spent by all volunteers travelling to and from tasks and spending a few minutes having a friendly chat with residents etc, and don’t forget our Food Bank Managers.

In summary, what can I say, a brilliant all round effort. Thank you.

Thank you very much for the very kind and generous cash and food donations that were made today. It is really appreciated and it certainly makes a difference in our ability to provide such a essential service, specifically in the run up to the festive period.
