Although not one of our busier days with regards to incoming requests, as only 7 calls were received. 3 x Welfare (inc one home visit), 2 x Food box deliveries, 1 x Shopping trip and 1 x Miscellaneous. However, it was certainly a different story at the Church Hall today.

As planned the roll-out of Christmas Hampers commenced this morning. With volunteers wearing PPE and under the careful direction of Judy and Marcus, the first deployment began in earnest across the community and will continue throughout the week or indeed for as long as needed!
The motto is: ‘No one needs to go without’!
Whilst not necessary, the calls, emails and messages of gratitude that I received today, some of which have been emotionally charged have been remarkable. The need and capability exists and collectively with the outstanding kindness and generosity of the people of Branston, Branston Booths and Mere, and supporting organisations ie Morrison’s and Co-op, LincsYMCA etc, it significantly enhances community spirit and makes the Parish a much better place to live and enjoy.
Finally, thank you to those involved in todays operation and also to those who continue to donate, either in cash or provisions, it’s so greatly appreciated. In military jargon; the front line supply chain and rear echelon replenishment processes remain in place, active and very effective!
