Branston All Saints Group Food Bank
Once again a big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to assist Marcus and Judith in this weeks Big Christmas Hamper ‘Roll-Out’ – The feedback has been amazing.
Another thank you goes out to Pete Sparkes and the staff at Limagrain (the UK’s leading plant breeder and seed producer) who have very kindly donated food boxes, it’s really appreciated and thank you for thinking of us.
Next week, we’ll see Pat return to the helm as the Food Bank Manager, as we head into another week closer to Christmas.
Please note: The Food Bank festive opening hours will be:
Thursday 24 December – 1000-1100 hrs
Monday 28 to Thursday 31 December – 1000-1100 hrs
(Fresh bread and shortbread, kindly donated by Gadsby’s will be available on Tuesday 22 December)
If required food boxes will still be available for anyone that requires them outside these times by simply contacting the Helpline 07395 906220 – Remember “No one needs to go without”
Request for Food Bank Managers
As previously alluded to, discussions are being held on continuing the Food Bank possibly out to the end of March 2021. Obviously, social, economic and climatic factors are being considered. To facilitate this, I’d like to offer up opportunities for volunteers to be Food Bank Managers over the following periods:
4 – 8 January
11 – 15 January
18 – 22 January
25 – 29 January
1 – 5 February
8 – 12 February
15 – 19 February
22 – 26 February
1 – 5 March
8 – 12 March
15 – 19 March
22 – 26 March
If you haven’t already helped and would like to know what it entails, please pop along, have a look and chat to the volunteers. If you’d like another go, either way, please get in touch. It’s a popular role, so first come, first served!
Community Engagement
Finally, don’t forget about the opportunity to win a £50 Amazon Voucher or cash. The rules are simple, please let me know how many requests we will have responded to by 2359hrs on Thursday 31 December 2020.
If there is more than one correct answer, the names will be placed into a hat and a winner drawn out and announced on New Years Day – What a nice start to the New Year that would be…I look forward to hearing from you.
Take care, Stay Safe and have a good weekend
Thank you for your continuing support – Andy, Jim & Linda
