Well it turned out to be a busy and exciting day today. In total 14 calls, requests and tasks were successfully responded to. They looked like this:
5 x Miscellaneous (Mainly requests for information)
3 x Welfare
3 x Food box deliveries
2 x Assistance for medical appointments &
1 x Prescription collection
The highlight of today was receiving a great call from the Co-op Head Office Community Development Team, with whom we have a great relationship, that the Group is to receive a cheque for £461.70p
This was generated by the kind customers of the Branston Co-op Food Store donating their dividend points to the group during the month of December and a donation from the Co-op Central Fund. Needless to say, to the Foodstore staff, Community Development Team, and not least all the customers who parted with their points to support the group, who will in turn support the Community – a huge thank you to you all.
Important Request for Volunteer Assistance
Unfortunately this request remains extant and I’m still seeking a volunteer to assist a Branston Booths gentleman. Being referred by welfare services, the role of the volunteer will be to meet him for friendly chats once a week. Primarily, this will help his loneliness and help with his well-being. If you are able to assist or would like further information, please give me a call on 07395 906220.
Branston All Saints Food Bank
If you would like to donate to the Food Bank, it is currently in short supply of the following items:
Anti-bacterial wipes
Cleaning sprays and cloths
Tinned vegetables (all types)
Talcum powder
Nappy sacks
Breakfast cereals
Crisps and biscuits
Cat and dog food
Squash
Sugar
Finally, I haven’t received any ideas as how to improve this page or what you’d like to see in/on it……
Take care and Stay safe.
Thank you for your continuing support – BCG Committee: Andy, Jim, Linda, Liam, Joseph, Jonathan, Sharon and Kev. 👍🏻
