After a quiet weekend, today certainly made up for it as we clocked up 19 requests covering a wide range of requirements.
The Branston All Saints Covid-19 Food Bank. Once again thank you to all those who are continuing to donate items. With the current uncertainty that exists as to which direction this pandemic is heading and the upcoming school holidays, rest assured the Food Bank is more than prepared to support those who may need help. I will re-iterate ‘there is no need for anyone to go without’. Also, I would like to thank Tina from Lincoln for once again donating a quantity of face masks, which were greatly appreciated.
External support – The success of the Group and Food Bank has been greatly aided by the support from external organisations. Whilst I often mention the Branston Co-op Food store, Pharmacy and a Branston Surgery, there are many others such as Morrison’s Supermarket, Co-op Head Office – Community Development, FareShare (Hull & Humber), Lincs Well-being, NKDC, YMCA Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire County Council Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Unit and of course the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum. Building relationships and working collaboratively with mutual aims has proven to be very successful and long may it continue until the end of this pandemic and beyond in whatever guise the group continues in.
School Meal Vouchers Scheme – I have been informed that Iceland are now accepting School Meal Vouchers. Additionally, if £35 plus is spent there is free delivery.
Thank you for your continuing support
Take care and Stay Safe – Andy
