Branston & Mere Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Clerk/Manager to start immediately.

32 hours per week – National Association of Local Councils April 2020 pay scales, LC2 SCP 20 -28 £25,295 to £31,371 (pro rata).

Branston & Mere Parish Council invites applications from suitably experienced persons with interest in the local community for the position of Parish Clerk/Manager.

This is an exciting post for community orientated individuals who would like to make a difference to our community and feel as though they are contributing positively to our quality of life.

You will be working as part of a small dedicated team with  responsibility for the overall administration of the Council’s business; implementing Council decisions & policies; supervision of other members of staff; maintaining up to date financial records; preparation of annual budget; completion of annual audit and return.

You will be expected to work from the Parish Office, located in the village of Branston and a flexible approach is essential as occasional attendance at evening meetings is required.  Applicants will be self-motivated, highly organised and committed to delivering excellent customer service to the residents of Branston, Branston Booths, Mere and Longhills.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a customer facing role, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will also ideally possess excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills and use of social media. The formal CiLCA qualification would be an advantage, but training can be provided.
