Branston Jungle
Natural Wildlife Area Improvement Report. Branston & Mere Parish Council have undertaken a series of improvement works at the local nature reserve (known as ‘The Jungle’) to enhance its accessibility, safety and environmental value. These enhancements aim to create a welcoming space for residents, schools, and visitors to enjoy and learn about the natural environment.
War Memorial Cleaning
Branston & Mere Parish Council has funded the professional cleaning of the village war memorial to ensure it remains a respectful and well-maintained tribute to those who served. This work reflects the Council’s ongoing commitment to preserving local heritage and honouring the memory of our fallen servicemen and women.
Speed Reduction Measures in the Village.
In response to ongoing concerns about speeding, Branston & Mere Parish Council has invested in new speed limit signage to help encourage safer driving. These signs have been strategically placed along the village’s busiest routes to increase driver awareness and reduce vehicle speeds. This measure forms part of our wider commitment to improving road safety and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Branston Beer Festival - Supporting our Community
The Branston Beer Festival is a much-loved community event, organised by our Beer Festival committee and run by volunteers on the day. Alongside food, drink, and entertainment, it raises funds that directly benefit the village. Any surplus is donated to local groups and initiatives, supporting a range of projects that enhance community life.
Improved Access for Local Football Teams
We are pleased to support local football by providing access to the modular facility, which includes changing rooms, showers, toilets, and a dedicated referee’s room. Access is via a raised platform with handrails, offering improved usability for teams and match officials.
Lincoln Road Play Park Update
We have installed a range of new equipment at Lincoln road play park. Among the highlights were an exhilarating zip wire and the Branston Express—a charming, train-themed play structure designed to inspire hours of imaginative fun. The new additions also include a variety of interactive equipment tailored to suit a wide range of age groups.
